Making the Best of It & Quotable Sunday

[source]

I’ve always admired people like my father, and my  boyfriend for that matter, for having the amazing capability of making the best of every situation. You know the make-lemonade-glass-is-half full-kinda-people.

After all, if every time you’re thrown a few lemons you just sit there hiding in your room with the lemons, where’s the fun in that? It’d be a pretty sour life now wouldn’t it?

Lately, I’ve been really trying to make the best of what I’m given, and remember that every little obstacle in life is there for a reason and helps us grow. If life were perfect, it’d be pretty darn boring if I do say so myself. Plus, the little hurdles & struggles we have to overcome make things a little more exciting, even if we don’t realize that at the very moment.

But anywho, 99% of the time things end up working themselves out naturally, so why not make the best out of it? If you do so, I can guarantee you’ll be much happier at the very least.

Yea, you may be feeling a little blue on the inside, but the sun is out and it’s a beautiful day, so why not go for a run?

You’re struggling to pay your rent and worried about monetary situations, but you really can afford to skip those lattes & to-go orders this week and know that if you reallllly had to, you could babysit, take on a part time gig, & essentially make it work.

Things have been going poorly in your relationship lately, but nothing a martini with your best friend or phone call to mom can’t fix, at least temporarily.

You’re stressed out of your mind and there’s literally “NOTHING YOU CAN DO” TO MAKE IT BETTER, buttttt you’ve had that gift certificate to the spa hiding in your top drawer since Christmas. Perhaps it’s time to whip it out?

You feel FAT, UGLY, BLOATED, TIRED, CRANKY, BLAH, but won’t some deep breathing or a yoga class snap you back to reality and help you find that inner confidence?

You see, making the best out of a crappy situation really isn’t that hard. It just takes a little effort. Go ahead and try it. I promise, it won’t  hurt. What do you do to “make the best of it?”

Oh, I love this and could have written it word for word!! For me, right now I am focusing hard on transitioning negative fat talk into positives…no sense tearing myself down needlessly and out of habit, ya know? there is plenty of good and the bad are just nit picks, and we are always works in progress! great post!!
