Good afternoon Healthy Chicks, and happy almost weekend! I’ve been super busy these past couple weeks between taking fitness classes, working on freelance writing pieces, finding our new apartment (which I adore!) and prepping for sweetgreen’s Boston opening so I apologize if I’ve been a little MIA on the blog front.
While it’s great to be busy, every once in a while it’s nice to pause, unplug and look within to give yourself a little reset. You know, to check in with yourself and ask “How am I feeling?” “Am I nourishing myself?” Last week, I made sure to take some “me time” to really find some clarity. During this week, I was fortunate enough to be meeting with Stacy Slawitsky (who you’ll meet in a moment) who was kind enough to do a complimentary chakra clearing session on me to break through some of those energy blocks. During our session, I learned that I was taking in a lot of other people’s “stuff” & that my fear and lack of confidence was holding me back from doing some pretty darn amazing things. It was quite fascinating, and I left feeling a little lighter, a little more at ease and a little less cluttered. A pretty amazing feeling to say the least.

WHAT YOU DO FOR WORK: I help women entrepreneurs release their energetic blocks/garbage so they can unleash their full power to profit in their business!
NUMBER ONE PASSION: Help women transform through energy work. It was so transformative for me in my journey from a rigid, miserable corporate road warrior to where I am now. I am super passionate about sharing these practices with others!
I FEEL MY HEALTHIEST SELF WHEN I AM: Meditating, eating whole foods and listening to my bod and what it needs (which may mean sitting on my butt and doing absolutely nothing for a night).
BUT I AM ALSO A REAL GIRL & SOMETIMES: I can be really hard on myself and run by body and mind to the ground when they are telling me to SLOW DOWN!
TOP THREE KITCHEN STAPLES: Almond milk, lots of veggies (cucumbers and grape tomatoes are my faves) and Chicken
NUMBER ONE GUILTY PLEASURE: Hamburgers
EXERCISE THAT MAKES YOU SHINE: Kettle bells, swimming, long walks along the Charles River and yoga
FAVORITE COMFORT FOOD: Roasted sweet potatoes sprinkled with cinnamon, yum.
MESSAGE YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE WITH OTHER HEALTHY CHICKS:
There is SO much info out there on what to eat and how to exercise. Find the path to wellness that works for YOU and your body. Know that it may change over time and that’s ok too!
That said, we can eat all the whole foods and exercise till we are blue in the face. But It takes a courageous chick with self-awareness and perseverance to STOP, get off the treadmill and be introspective about one’s life and what is or isn’t working for us. If something isn’t working, take it by the balls and ask yourself what can you do about it and who can help?
Last not but not least, have FUN! Don’t take yourselves too seriously, dance around in your living room every once in awhile, blow some bubbles at the beach, go for a run that’s not your standard route and leave the stopwatch at home.
