Happy Friday, loves! Don’t forget to check out Wednesday’s post on incorporating bone broth into your diet, including a discount from local Boston company Five Way Foods.
Speaking of nourishing food, that brings me to this week’s feature on Healthy Chicks in the Community, a weekly series highlighting rockstar women doing their thang in the wellness community.
As I’ve mentioned before, when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s I started working with Parsley Health, a high-tech medical practice dedicated to putting the patient first and helping you discover your root cause. Once you sign up for a membership, you’re paired with a Functional Medicine Doctor as well as a health coach.
Lucky for me, I was paired with Elisa Haggarty of Culinary Farmacy who — you guessed it — is this week’s Healthy Chick. I absolutely love Elisa’s whole foods approach to wellness, as she “prescribes” nourishing real food before medication or unnecessary supplements. In a world that I feel is overmedicated and on every pricy supplement in the book (yes, some are necessary), I think it’s refreshing to go back to the basics and use food to help the body heal.
Elisa has taught me so many nuggets … Read More!

If you know me well, you know I’m a big fan of bone broth. Any given day, you can find me either talking about it, drinking it or writing about it. In fact, I actually dedicated a whole post confessing my love for Five Way Foods bone broth over here.
While I covered the health benefits of bone broth in my previous post, today I wanted to talk about my favorite ways to consume and cook with bone broth!
First things first, you need to find a bone broth you absolutely love. While health perks matter, it also has to taste good! Be weary of shelf-stable broth, which often has additives and isn’t truly bone broth. Instead opt for a broth that either comes refrigerated or frozen, keeping the good stuff in tact.
Five Way Foods Bone Broth
My all-time personal favorite is Five Way Foods, a local Boston company that sources their ingredients locally without any preservatives. Their broth is simmered for hours, extracting all the good-for-you vitamins, minerals and proteins i.e. the good stuff I was talking about. It comes in four delicious flavors — beef, chicken, fish and vegetable — stored in glass bottles instead of … Read More!

I’ll likely write a detailed post on this soon, but for now you can catch my instagram stories for the latest updates or read this and this post for the background on my journey with Hashimoto’s.

There’s nothing that beats Sundays in the fall. I’m absolutely in love with cozy mornings spent inside with a hot cup of coffee, crisp fresh air, and watching football with hubby and friends during the afternoon.
While I love getting together with my besties for Game Day, I don’t love that your typical tailgating snacks are filled with sketchy ingredients, and typically loaded with gluten and dairy (two oh-so-dreamy things I can’t have). The thing is I love the taste of Game Day comfort foods, so I often try to healthy up my favorite recipes using clean ingredients made from real, whole foods to get my fix.
This Spinach & Artichoke dip is one of my creations, and I gotta say it’s been a hit! Made with just a few simple ingredients, this app has all the warm gooey flavors you know and love without processed ingredients, gluten or dairy. Plus, it’s 100% vegan! Win, win, win. Grab a bag of your fave tortilla chips or sliced veggies, and dip away as you cheer on your team!

Happy Friday, ladies and welcome back to Healthy Chicks in the Community, a weekly series highlighting rockstar Girl Bosses doing their thang in the wellness community!
One of my favorite things about what I do is that I get to connect with strong, beautiful, like-minded women on the day to day. It was such an honor to meet one of my instagram buddies Aileen (@aspirewithaileen) IRL at a women’s conference last month. We instantly connected, bonding over our love for wellness, real food and sushi. When she asked me if I wanted some warm water with lemon at lunch, I knew we’d be besties 😉
I’m thrilled to feature this beautiful holistic career coach today on the blog, whose mission is truly about helping other people. Be sure to check out her BRAND NEW career coaching program here to help you discover a job your passionate about, or schedule a free consultation with her. I’ll let Aileen take it from here!

“In my life nothing goes wrong. When things seem to not meet my expectations, I let go of how I think things should be. It’s a matter of not having any attachment to any fixed outcome.” -Deepak Chopra
One of the themes that will come through a lot this fall season is letting go. Just like the leaves change colors and then fall to the ground, we too benefit from “shedding” that which no longer serves us.
Yesterday in my evening slow flow yoga class, the teacher kept bringing up the idea of letting go of the outcome. “Do the best you can and then let go of the outcome,” she said softly to the group of yogis.
Throughout the 60 minutes, this came up often, whether it was being OK with not bending into the pose as deeply as others, or breathing into the present moment whenever I felt my mind start to wander.
You may often hear yoga teachers use the term “Take a deep breath and let it all go,” but do you truly let it all go?
During the fertility journey I am currently on, it can be easy to get caught up in … Read More!

OK, don’t get mad at me but I’ve been ready for fall for like a month now.
While everyone else is soaking up the last bit of summer, I’m over here scooping up pumpkins and playing around with hearty, autumn recipes in the kitchen.
And now that the first day of fall is officially tomorrow, I think that lets me get away with sharing this super cozy, Thai soup recipe. My husband and I absolutely love this chicken soup from our local Thai restaurant, but unfortunately they’re not 100% clear on the ingredients and the jury is still out on whether it’s really gluten free or not. Unfortunately, that means I have to avoid it to be safe.
On a cooler, rainy night this week, I was craving Thai food in a big way. That’s when I got the genius idea of attempting to make it myself. And that I did!
This Thai Chicken Noodle Soup is perfect for cozy fall evenings, or when you sense a bit of a cold coming on. It’s super simple to make, flavorful and packed with healing, heart-warming ingredients good for the bod and soul.
I hope you enjoy it as much as … Read More!
