Good afternoon ladies. Or is it really a good afternoon? If you’re like me, you may be craving a little extra feel-good this Monday. Hey, they don’t call it the Monday Blues for nothing. If that extra-large latte with two shots of espresso still isn’t doing it for you, read on my friends. Here are 7 surefire ways that’ll snap you out of that grouchy mood by the time you finish your lunch:

1. Lobster roll specials are all over the place right now, especially if you live in New England. Check out what made the cut for Serious Eats’ top 17 lobster rolls in the Northeast here. But if you’re looking to snag a really great deal, nothing beats “window shopping” for tasty specials during the summertime; just make sure you’re paying attention to the signs as you walk!

2. The Boston Common offers free yoga at Frog Pond every Thursday at 9 a.m. There’s no better way to start your morning than a little Power Vinyasa in the park. End your morning with a homemade smoothie, made with frozen strawberries, banana and vanilla soy milk, perhaps. If you don’t live in the Bean, check in with your go-to city guide or search Yelp and Citysearch for deals near you. A little Google search action can’t hurt either.

3. Take your camera and go on a little journey outside. Take pictures of anything and everything interesting you see. Find the beauty in everything, whether it’s the elderly couple holding hands on a park bench, or the bright orange flower on the side of the street.

4. Spend time with your little cousins, or offer to babysit for a family friend one day this week. While they may be a pain in the butt sometimes, there is nothing like the commentary of a child to bring a smile to your face. The other day my three-year-old cousin picked up the phone and said, “Uh, hello? It’s me, the Beast. Is Belle there?” Precious, just precious.

5. Lace up your sneakers and go for a walk…to nowhere. Simply walk, and breathe and take in the scenery around you.

6. Tell someone you love how much they mean to you, whether it’s in words, cooking them their favorite dinner, or even writing a message in a bottle. When you share your love, love comes back to you. It’s contagious.

7. Finish your coffee, and order another one. Not a coffee-lover? Try a new tea. I’m a firm believer that coffee cures everything. Call me an addict; I don’t care.

Take care and be well!

XoXo,
