Happy New Year, beauties! As you probably know by now, I am so not a fan of the typical New Year’s resolutions i.e. lose the weight, join the gym, buy the house — unless that’s truly what your soul desires, that is. Rather, I’m all about setting feel good intentions based on how you want to feel vs. what you want to have.
If you need a little help setting feel good resolutions that actually stick, check out my article over on WELL Insiders. No gym membership required!
Alrighty, onto this month’s Healthy Chicks in the Community feature, Calli Pappas! As a yogini and wellness advocate, Calli shares all about the work she does in Corporate Social Responsibility, her love for large salad bowls (um, yes please!) and her side passion writing for her blog Eat, Run & Everything in Between. I’ll let Calli take it from here!
NAME: Calli Pappas
DESCRIBE YOUR BUSINESS/LINE OF WORK: Full Time Gig: HR / Corporate Social Responsibility at a Healthcare company / Part Time: Yoga Sculpt instructor at Corepower Yoga and SLT instructor in training. On the side, I have my blog Eat, Run & Everything in Between and I’m helping out a friend with her startup Wish Route.
WHERE YOU LIVE: Boston, MA
HOW YOU SERVE THE COMMUNITY THROUGH YOUR WORK: Current focus in CSR at our company is launching a campaign “Let’s Support You Internally So You Can Better Support Those Externally.” We’re in the works of creating pilot programs with a holistic health focus for our employees. Outside of my day job, I inspire yogis of all ages daily through my yoga sculpt teaching and create a sense of community & connection through my blog/partnering with those local to the city!
NUMBER ONE PASSION OUTSIDE THE JOB: Connecting with like-minded humans & chatting about health & wellness
INTENTIONS/GOALS YOU HAVE FOR YOURSELF IN THE NEXT 3 YEARS: Furthered education along the lines of nutrition, more opportunities to teach (fitness related), working for a company with a health & wellness focus
ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’D TELL YOUR CHILDHOOD SELF: To not stress over the college process. Your college, your major, your choices made in college are not going to make or break your future! Relax and enjoy your teens & 20s — things will all work out!
FOODS THAT MAKE YOU FEEL ALIVE & BRING THE MOST JOY: Large salad bowls with all the crunchy toppings, green smoothies, and coffee 😉
SONG THAT MOVES YOU: I love tech house, house, groovy vibes! Anything from Don Diablo to Malaa to Chris Lake
THREE FAB THINGS ABOUT YOU: I ran D1 track and XC all 4 years at college (it was a grind, but I don’t regret any second of it), I have a passion to travel & explore (I love spontaneity), and I have an amazing sister & best friend who motivates me everyday.
FAVORITE BODY PART & WHY: My calves! I’ve been a runner my entire life and my sculpted calves make me feel strong, confident, beautiful and show years of hard work (all the blood, sweat, & tears from track and XC)!
I GET MY INSPIRATION FROM: the people I choose to surround myself with — I easily absorb positive energies around me!
EXERCISE THAT MAKES YOU SHINE: Running will always be one of my favorites, but more recently a little yoga on the beach never hurts!
SOMETHING IN YOUR “WELLNESS TOOLBOX” YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: Coconut Oil — it’s so multifunctional
GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT: Marrying my soulmate (I know cheesy, but it’s true!) who supports me on all of my adventures & goals!
FEMALE LEADER(S) YOU LOOK UP TO: I don’t necessarily have a list, but I tend to follow and look up to those that are go-getters, rule breakers, progressive leaders being bad a** ladies doing bad a** things!
IF YOU COULD PICK ONE PERSON TO HAVE DINNER WITH, WHO WOULD IT BE & WHAT WOULD YOU MAKE THEM: Rich Roll would be pretty interesting to talk with. Also, Joe Rogan. Both their podcasts are always fantastic!
GO-TO MANTRA OR INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE: Not one specific quote comes to mind, but I believe in going after everything you want, knowing that it’s okay to fail, learn from those lessons, and get right back on to the next adventure.
MESSAGE YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE WITH OTHER HEALTHY CHICKS: In order to be the best version of yourself, TRUST in your own abilities, believe in yourself (like REALLY believe it), be CONFIDENT, stop doubting yourself, go after your goals and dreams, and most importantly CONNECT. Surround yourself with like-minded people who are positive and want to support you.

It’s awesome to see my daughter recognized for all she does. She’s an amazing loving daughter who has taught me so much. I’ve changed my eating habits and am eating healthier thanks to her and she makes me see that nothing is worth worrying about no matter how old you are.
