Good morning, Healthy Chicks and TGIF! If you haven’t caught my post on our August Soul Sisters Retreat (on Castle Island!) be sure to check it out here — we’ll be announcing full details and opening up registration later today.

Moving on to this week’s Healthy Chicks in the Community column, a weekly series that celebrates fabulous women in the community. This week, I’m super giddy to introduce you to Kayte (yes, she’s super cool and spells her name with a ‘y.’) When I first met Kayte at a farm-to-table supper last fall, I was in awe by her utter beauty. She totally had this “look” going on: the best haircut, a super trendy outfit, and bright red lipstick. And then when I actually introduced myself to her, I was hooked! As beautiful as she is, she is also genuine, playful, creative and unique. Girl crush, anyone? I’ll let Kayte take it away from here!

Happy Friday, ladies! This week has been a whirlwind for me, as lots of positive things begin to flow into my life. For one, myself and my friend Kelley launched Soul Sisters last night, with a fabulous kickoff party at Athleta Newbury St.! More to come soon, but we’re going to be hosting outdoor monthly retreats to escape the city, connect with other women, and re-ignite your inner passion & soul’s truth! I’m thinking this New Moon came at a good time for me, and can’t wait to see what’s in store!

Anyway, onto this week’s spotlight on Healthy Chicks in the Community (a weekly series that celebrates fabulous women in the community)! This Friday, I am extremely honored and excited to feature the lovely Eliza a.k.a. Kick It By Eliza. This woman truly embodies beauty on the inside & out, and I’ve always admired the way she carries herself with such confidence & grace. She may be small, but she’s fierce, passionate and knows how to get after it! I’m positive this lil curly-haired ball of energy will go far in life with her entrepreneurial ways. Ok…I’ll let Eliza take it, er Kick It, from here!

Good afternoon friends, and happy Friday! I am so thrilled to bring back one of my favorite Healthy Chicks traditions: Healthy Chicks in the Community. If you’re new over here, each and every week I would spotlight a fabulous gal via a mini interview here on the blog.

To bring it back with a bang, I can’t think of a more perfect woman to feature. When I first met Kelsey, I was immediately drawn to her infectious, glowing personality and genuine care for other people’s wellbeing. She’s one of those selfless souls that has the biggest heart, and you can feel that energy just by being around her. (The girl literally radiates positive energy!) Go ahead, see for yourself…

Good evening ladies, and welcome back to another week of Healthy Chicks in the Community! I am super pumped to share this week’s chick with you, as she’s one of the most genuine, real gals I know.

When I met Cara for the first time, she was decked out in the cutest lulu yoga outfit, smiling from ear to ear as she made her way around the room to greet the follow yogis. I immediately thought, “I want to be friends with this girl!” Since then we’ve become good friends, bonding over yoga, salads and good laughs. The best part about her is she’s just a real, no-BS gal next door (or shall I say Yogi Next Door). What you see is what you get, and I absolutely love that about her! I’ll let Cara take it from here…

Good morning ladies! Now I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted a feature for Healthy Chicks in the Community, but I’m excited to get it going again this week with a very special lady.

As a past client of mine, this Healthy Chick always wows me with her strength, guts and drive to go after what she wants. Not only did she just start her own biz, but she also works full time at Harvard Business School. Talk about gettin’ stuff done! I’ll let Erica take it from here…I’m sure you’ll fall in love with her mission as I have.

Good morning, ladies! Hope you are all having a fabulous week. If you missed my updates yesterday, I encourage you to check it out so you can see what’s been going on over at Healthy Chicks!

Anyway, it’s Thursday and that means it’s time for another week of Healthy Chicks in the Community, where I spotlight a different woman each week who embodies what it means to be truly healthy (on the inside & out). I have to admit, I have been slacking lately and haven’t been keeping up with my weekly features. That being said, I couldn’t be more excited to bring it back with one of the most inspirational bloggers and woman I know.

I discovered this lovely lady, the one and only Heather Waxman, around Christmastime and have been hooked ever since. She has a way about her writing that makes you feel comforted, stretched and as if you’re not alone in this sometimes crazy world. As I read through Heather’s posts (which generally focus on spirituality, life lessons and meditation), I’m constantly nodding in approval, thinking “I could totally be this girl’s best friend.” She just gets you. I can honestly say that she … Read More!

Healthy Chicks in the Community: A Passionate, Transformational, Chakra Clearing Expert

Good afternoon Healthy Chicks, and happy almost weekend! I’ve been super busy these past couple weeks between taking fitness classes, working on freelance writing pieces, finding our new apartment (which I adore!) and prepping for sweetgreen’s Boston opening so I apologize if I’ve been a little MIA on the blog front.

While it’s great to be busy, every once in a while it’s nice to pause, unplug and look within to give yourself a little reset. You know, to check in with yourself and ask “How am I feeling?” “Am I nourishing myself?” Last week, I made sure to take some “me time” to really find some clarity. During this week, I was fortunate enough to be meeting with Stacy Slawitsky (who you’ll meet in a moment) who was kind enough to do a complimentary chakra clearing session on me to break through some of those energy blocks. During our session, I learned that I was taking in a lot of other people’s “stuff” & that my fear and lack of confidence was holding me back from doing some pretty darn amazing things. It was quite fascinating, and I left feeling a little lighter, a little more at ease and … Read More!

Healthy Chicks in the Community: A Soulful, Froyo Addicted, Barre-Teaching “Fit Feminist”

Happy Thursday everyone! I am off to a great start to the day as I got my butt out of bed for yoga. Yoga mornings = the best kind of mornings. Today, I gave Karma Yoga in Harvard Square a shot for my first time. I took a super energizing Vinyasa flow with Rachel Barringer, who gave the perfect balance of challenging postures, breath work and good ol’ fashioned humor. I really enjoyed her class and give her big props for starting my day off on the right foot.

Speaking of yoga, today’s feature on Healthy Chicks in the Community is a yoga teacher as well, and she’s far from ordinary. In addition to yoga, she teaches Barre & Soul and even aerial yoga. Plus she’s a wonderful writer and all around amazing woman inside & out and someone who I have the pleasure of knowing personally. I’ll let Andrea take it from here! (I think you’ll enjoy what she has to say, especially her message at the end!)
