In the spirit of continuing those good vibes, I’m thrilled to introduce you to this week’s feature on Healthy Chicks in the Community, a weekly series highlighting rockstar Girl Bosses doing their thang in the wellness community and beyond.

Founder of Fit University Sarah Gaines is totally crushing it when it comes to bringing the wellness movement to the masses — in particular to college students. I love her energy, positivity and dedication to promoting health and wellness to students and young professionals (which is so needed in the world). I’ll let Sarah take it away from here!

Happy Friday, babes! First and foremost, I want to thank all of you for your sweet words and support this past week. Since I published the story on my early miscarriage, I’ve been flooded with so much love from women in my community — through private messages, comments on my Instagram, texts and phone calls. I am beyond grateful, and this has been an enormous part of my healing journey so thank you.

Alright, moving on to this weeks feature on Healthy Chicks in the Community, a weekly series highlighting rockstar Girl Bosses doing their thang in the wellness community and beyond.

I am so deeply honored to introduce you to my beautiful friend and Graphic Designer Chantelle Davis-Gray. I first connected with Chantelle through SheBreathes, when I reached out to have her help design my Spark Your Bliss affirmation cards. She was so fun to work with, and I love her eye for detail and simplicity with a pop of color. It’s been even more fun getting to know Chantelle outside of work, and her passion and mission to work with small wellness-minded businesses (small businesses with big hearts as she puts it) is truly inspiring. I’ll

Happy Friday, ladies! I’m celebrating my way right into 4th of July Weekend and my 30th birthday (on the 5th!) with a bang. But before we all take off for fireworks, BBQs and family fun, it’s time for this week’s spotlight on Healthy Chicks in the Community, a weekly series highlighting rockstar Girl Bosses doing their thang in the community.

One of my favorite quotes is, “She believed she could so she did.” It’s simple yet so powerful and I like that it shows what you want is ultimately up to you. Framingham MA resident Rachael Lynsey Rubin is the epitome of this quote — she had a dream, went after it and made it her reality.

I’ve followed her story along for a while, and it’s been so beautiful watching her go from makeup artist to Boss Girl/Photographer/Studio Owner/you name it in the matter of a few years. I’ll let Rachael take it over from here; perhaps she’ll inspire you too to go after something you believe in, and take it by the horns (or makeup brush and camera in her case).

Healthy Chicks in the Community: Grace Brinton {Boston’s Meal Service & Recipe Fairy}

For my job, I spend much of the day perusing social media. Fun fact: aside from being a writer and Health Coach, I also manage social media for several small local businesses! While this comes with its ups and downs, for the most part I feel inspired by all the amazing women I get to connect with online and many of the times IRL (In Real Life).

Grace Brinton is one of those super cool ladies I’ve connected with through instagram, and I was immediately drawn to all her beautiful photos of food. Aside from posting pretty, drool-worthy foodie pics all day long, Grace also launched a sustainable Meal Delivery Service here in Boston, prioritizing nutrient-dense, organic and pasture-raised ingredients. Not to mention, everything she whips up is free from gluten and dairy, and many of her recipes are AIP-friendly which is great for those with an autoimmune disease like me who are navigating the AIP diet.

Clearly I’m a super fan girl of what Grace is doing, and couldn’t be more happy to feature her on the blog today!

SheBreathes Balance & Wellness Studio, Walpole, MA

I’ve written about this before on the blog, but for those of you who don’t know I made some pretty massive life changes about a year ago. Within a couple months, I quit my full-time job, dove full force into the whole “work from home” thing, and moved out of the city of Boston to the good ol’ suburbs of Massachusetts.

Suddenly, this city chick had to get used to the fact that I couldn’t just walk down the street for a cup of coffee, go to all the cool city networking/fitness/foodie events my little heart desired, and take the T or an uber anywhere I wanted. Oh, and then there was the whole getting a car thing…what even is that?!

Don’t get my wrong, we wanted to move and it was super intentional. In fact, to be honest, I think it was needed for my own sanity. My body was screaming at me to “Slow down!” and finally I decided to listen to it, and a move out of the city was a part of that lesson. But just because this is what we wanted doesn’t mean it was easy.… Read More!

Happy Friday, friends! I’m heading off for a weekend of camping, so pray to the Weather Fairies that we get a little sunshine and warmth in New England. Alrighty, moving on to this week’s spotlight on Healthy Chicks in the Community, a weekly series highlighting rockstar Girl Bosses doing their thang in the wellness world!

Ever since she was pregnant with her first son, Boston Blogger and Health Coach Kaitlin of For Love of Carrots had been whipping up grab-and-go cookies for her nursing momma friends to help them boost their milk supply. When she gave birth to her now one-month-old adorable son Hudson, she was personally hit by the challenge of breastfeeding and finding time to eat for herself.

That’s when she decided to take things to the next level, and launched Mama Needs Milk, nutrient-dense lactation cookies to support nursing moms. They come in delicious flavors like Oatmeal Cranberry and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, and are made 100% gluten free with superstar ingredients like chia and hemp seeds for healthy fats. Kaitlin’s Etsy shop just opened, and as you know there’s nothing I love more than supporting local female entrepreneurs. I’m psyched to give this glowing, healthy new mama … Read More!

Weekly Healthy Chicks in the Community Feature: Lucia Litman, The #PantonePosts Queen

I am over the (new) moon excited to introduce you to this week’s feature on Healthy Chicks in the Community, a weekly series celebrating rockstar Girl Bosses doing their thang in the wellness world.

Before Lucy became the Queen of Pantone Posts (stalk her Instagram if you don’t know what I’m talking about), her and I met at our company retreat when we both worked for sweetgreen. We instantly bonded sitting next to each other on the bus ride home, shamelessly admitting that while the rest of the bus wanted to party on, all we wanted was a solid nap sesh (#grandmas).

When I visited the sweetgreen Treehouse (HQ) for the first time in D.C., Lucy took me in under her wing, continuously feeding me with office snacks and homemade colorful smoothies, and even brought me as a guest to her gym. Even back then, her joy for life and love for food was obvious.

Now, Lucy lives out in California, and has created quite the buzz online with her beautiful #pantoneposts that inspire people to think of food as fun and playful, rather than shameful and caloric. (This recent post where she opens up about a past … Read More!

Weekly Healthy Chicks in the Community Feature: Katie Tiezzi From Kindred Spirits

I am beyond excited to introduce you to this week’s feature on Healthy Chicks in the Community, a weekly series highlighting rockstar Girl Bosses doing their thang in the wellness industry. Every so often in life, you meet someone who touches you so deeply — who touches your soul. Katie is one of those sweet beings for me!

I met Katie a couple years ago when I was going through a super rough patch at work. I was unsure of my path and feeling extremely lost, so I decided to book a Spiritual Energy Healing session with Katie from Kindred Spirits. While I went into the session not having a clue what to expect, I left with the utmost peace, clarity and five pages of notes. I’ve since been back several times, and each time leave feeling lighter and more sure of myself.

Katie has a gifted ability to tap into your intuition unlike anyone I’ve ever met, gently guiding you to listen within (while also sharing beautiful messages from spirit). To anyone who is going through a transition or tricky time, I honestly couldn’t recommend her enough. Without further adieu, it’s my honor to introduce you to this … Read More!
