Our Destination Babymoon Getaway to West Palm Beach: Where to Stay, Dine & Play

Read full article | No Comments

I’m officially 26+ weeks pregnant, and time is starting to fly! I can’t believe we have only 14 weeks left until we get to meet our sweet little girl. She’s already such big part of our lives (we love her so much!), and I know our life is about to change in a big, big way.

While I don’t agree with the random woman who told me I won’t have a life once baby comes (um, that’s bizarre advice to give someone you don’t even know), I do agree that life as we know it is about to come to a closing. It will be hard, there will be a lot of change, but we’re about to experience a love like never before and for that I am SO excited.

To celebrate being three months from our due date, hubby and I decided to take a much-needed Babymoon getaway to West Palm Beach last week! In this post, I highlight our favorite places to stay, dine and play while vacationing in West Palm.

Getting There

We are suckers for flying JetBlue, so you can imagine my excitement when I found super affordable flights for just $163 each roundtrip from Logan … Read More!

Babymoon in Paradise: Our Spa Day at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens

To celebrate Baby Girl coming this summer, hubby and I escaped to West Palm Beach for a Babymoon last week. (You can read all about out trip here!)

It was a totally different kind of vacation since a.) I’m six months pregnant b.) I’m not drinking and c.) I often want to go to bed by 9:30PM. Needless to say, getting some solid relaxation was a must for me, and I don’t know of a better way to relax than being pampered at a spa.

One of our favorite days on the Babymoon was our Spa Day at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, a must for anyone babymooning to the Palm Beach area.

Our Treatments

We arrived at the beautiful spa about 30 minutes before our appointments so we could relax and settle in — each going our separate ways to our changing rooms. When I opened my locker to change into my robe, I was greeted with a sweet welcome note and gift!

The full service spa has dozens of treatment options depending on what you’re in the mood for, but I went with a fitting Mommy-to-Be Facial and hubby opted for his … Read More!

Good morning beautiful ladies. Hubby and I are excited to announce that Baby Ski is a…GIRL! We both had an inkling the whole pregnancy that we were having a girl — including some very vivid dreams I had — and our gut feeling was indeed correct.

I am so excited to meet our little girl and officially be promoted to “mom.” If you haven’t already read my second trimester recap, you can do so here!

Speaking of being a mom, today on the blog I’m sharing my 2018 Mother’s Day gift roundup packed with unique, one-of-a-kind gifts for all those special mommas in your life all under $75!… Read More!

Baby is Half Baked: My Pregnancy Update + a Look Inside My Second Trimester

Read full article | No Comments

Hello beauties! I’m excited to tell you that baby Ski is officially “half baked” — and as long as a banana — as today marks 20 weeks pregnant. These weeks have truly gone by fast, and what people say is true: the 2nd trimester is definitely much more enjoyable (at least compared to the first trimester).

This morning we woke up bright and early for our 20-week anatomy scan and baby is as healthy as can be. We also got to find out the sex of the baby (which we’ll announce soon after we tell family).

Today on the blog, I’m sharing an inside look at the second trimester thus far — including kicks, cravings and everything in between!

FOOD CRAVINGS & AVERSIONS

While I didn’t have many cravings my first trimester since the nausea was intense, I’m now back to loving food again! Once I hit week 16, my appetite kicked it up 1,000 notches. I started craving anything and everything especially cheeseburgers, french fries, pizza, salads and potatoes — all of which I happily enjoyed. In fact, I’ve gone back twice to one of my favorite childhood dives for crinkle-cut fries!

I’m also being sure to … Read More!

6 Healthy Morning Sickness Relief Must-Haves

Like I mentioned in my first trimester recap, the nausea and vomiting kicked in for me around week 6, and lasted the entire first trimester.

For those of you who are suffering from “morning sickness” like me (ahem, it’s really any time of day), you are totally not alone and there is hope! While I haven’t been able to figure out how to make it go away, I have come up with a few tricks to at least make it a bit more manageable. Here are my top 6 must-haves:

1. Bone Broth

It’s no secret that I’m totally obsessed with bone broth, but I didn’t know how essential it’d be throughout my pregnancy! During times when my nausea would flare up and I couldn’t even look at food, bone broth provided a nourishing, nutrient-rich alternative I could get down with.

My go-to during the first trimester has been Five Way Foods chicken broth, since there’s something about chicken broth that’s healing for the soul. My favorite way to enjoy it is just as is in a big ol’ coffee mug, which makes me feel all hip and cool since I’m not drinking coffee during my pregnancy, … Read More!

{still no bump, but babe is the size of a lime here!}

Good morning babes! As you probably know by now, I am pregnant and we’re expecting our first baby late August. The end of this week, I’ll officially be out of the first trimester (hooray) so I wanted to fill you in on all the ups and downs thus far.

While I’m trying to be present and appreciate every moment of this pregnancy, I’m not gonna lie — the first couple months were rough. From nightly vomiting and food aversions to extreme fatigue and sore breasts, I’ve pretty much hit the jackpot with all your typical pregnancy symptoms.

While I’ve spent many nights balling my eyes out in misery, sucking on mints to ease the throat burn and wondering how I’m going to get through this, knowing our rainbow baby is waiting for us at the end makes it all worth it.

Today on the blog, I’m sharing an inside look at the first trimester — the good, the bad and the ugly!

Cravings

During my first trimester, food was one of the last things on my mind due to the pretty intense nausea I had! However, there … Read More!

We’re pregnant: our Little Miracle + fertility journey {Coming Late August 2018}

Happy Valentine’s Day loves! My heart is literally exploding with love right now, as hubby and I are officially 12 weeks pregnant with baby arriving late August. Today on the blog, I wanted to share my journey with you, including the ups & downs, and how we found out we were pregnant. (Spoiler: it was a big surprise!)

Many of you know I had an early miscarriage in July, and the whole trying to conceive journey did not come easy for us. It wasn’t “hard” either, but it took us about a year to get pregnant, including a loss along the way. I will say that going through the hardship of loss and learning to trust in my body more deeply than ever before has made me appreciate this little growing rainbow babe in ways I can’t express. The amount of gratitude I feel right now in this very moment is indescribable (morning all-day sickness and all).

The Turning Point

In December, after nearly a year of trying to get pregnant (including an early miscarriage in July), I started losing hope and decided to book an appointment with a Healer I was referred to who offers intuitive medical … Read More!

On Letting Go of the Outcome + Being Present {Through Your Fertility Journey and Beyond}

“In my life nothing goes wrong. When things seem to not meet my expectations, I let go of how I think things should be. It’s a matter of not having any attachment to any fixed outcome.” -Deepak Chopra

One of the themes that will come through a lot this fall season is letting go. Just like the leaves change colors and then fall to the ground, we too benefit from “shedding” that which no longer serves us.

Yesterday in my evening slow flow yoga class, the teacher kept bringing up the idea of letting go of the outcome. “Do the best you can and then let go of the outcome,” she said softly to the group of yogis.

Throughout the 60 minutes, this came up often, whether it was being OK with not bending into the pose as deeply as others, or breathing into the present moment whenever I felt my mind start to wander.

You may often hear yoga teachers use the term “Take a deep breath and let it all go,” but do you truly let it all go?

During the fertility journey I am currently on, it can be easy to get caught up in … Read More!
