Hello beauties! I’m excited to tell you that baby Ski is officially “half baked” — and as long as a banana — as today marks 20 weeks pregnant. These weeks have truly gone by fast, and what people say is true: the 2nd trimester is definitely much more enjoyable (at least compared to the first trimester).
This morning we woke up bright and early for our 20-week anatomy scan and baby is as healthy as can be. We also got to find out the sex of the baby (which we’ll announce soon after we tell family).
Today on the blog, I’m sharing an inside look at the second trimester thus far — including kicks, cravings and everything in between!
FOOD CRAVINGS & AVERSIONS
While I didn’t have many cravings my first trimester since the nausea was intense, I’m now back to loving food again! Once I hit week 16, my appetite kicked it up 1,000 notches. I started craving anything and everything especially cheeseburgers, french fries, pizza, salads and potatoes — all of which I happily enjoyed. In fact, I’ve gone back twice to one of my favorite childhood dives for crinkle-cut fries!
I’m also being sure to … Read More!

Happy Spring, friends! Spring is one of my favorite seasons, as it’s a time for new beginnings, blossoming into your full power, and detoxing the things that are no longer serving you (be it food, relationships or clutter).
I absolutely love the sunshine, buying $5 tulips and delicious seasonal produce like snap peas, asparagus, sprouts and strawberries. Everything simply feels more alive…don’t you agree?
Spring is also the perfect time to start fresh by taking care of your mind, body & soul!
Join me for my 21-Day “Mind, Body & Soul” Spring Detox. During this 21-day group program, you’ll learn how to “detox” your mind, body and soul for the season ahead through seasonal cooking, mantras, and self-care tools.
The program officially kicks off Monday, April 23rd, and I hope you’re able to join me!
Challenges includes:
1. Weekly dose of positivity sent straight to your email (even better than your morning iced mocha!) with clear action-steps to implement right away for the three weeks. You’ll receive emails on Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the three weeks.
2. Access to private Facebook group to hold one another accountable – I’m a firm believer that the main reason we don’t … Read More!

When I moved to the suburbs, one of the things I missed most was walking (or taking public transportation) to my favorite healthy hot-spots. Since that’s no longer an option, I realized I had to get used to driving but taking the trip all the way into Boston isn’t convenient or feasible for me anymore.
That’s why I’m super grateful for Dedham’s Legacy Place, an outdoor shopping plaza with a Whole Foods, boutique clothing stores, restaurants and more! Bonus: It’s just a 25 minute drive from me, and I don’t have to fight for a spot on the T to get there! 😉
Since I’m a foodie at heart, I wanted to share a roundup of my favorite healthy restaurants at Legacy Place — some of my old-time Boston faves and some brand new to me!
sweetgreen
Why I love It
I love that sweetgreen is a scratch-kitchen, changing their menu seasonally and sourcing local as much as possible. In fact, they even have a local list in each store clearly outlining where their food comes from. Can’t get much more transparent than that! You can order one of their signature salads or grain bowls, or craft your own … Read More!

Good morning beauties! If you haven’t already, be sure to check out my blog post yesterday on celebrating women. I believe this is something that shouldn’t just be reserved for International Women’s Day, but part of our everyday lives.
Speaking of celebrating women, I’m super excited to celebrate this week’s feature on Healthy Chicks in the Community, a weekly series highlighting rockstar Girl Bosses doing their thang in the wellness community. I met Christie of Eastern Therapeutics when I started going for acupuncture for thyroid issues and fertility. She’s so knowledgable and will tell you like it is, while also being super gentle and empathetic. She’s truly the perfect package!
After I had a miscarriage in July, my body felt totally out of whack so I went to see Christie for some juicy acu focused on nourishing and rebalancing my body, but I’ve also gone to build blood (important for getting pregnant), re-energize and even help some funky digestive stuff/breakouts. The space (a 1920’s house which is actually Christie’s childhood home) is cozy, welcoming and absolutely beautiful.
I’ll let Christie take the floor from here!

“If you want to be a Queen, you have got to learn how to bow to other Queens.” -Guru Jagat
I absolutely love this quote by Guru Jagat, and I’ve been reflecting on it all week. It’s basically saying if you want to be recognized and celebrated, you gotta learn how to celebrate others too.
Here’s the thing: Jealousy, resentment, and attacking other women does no one any good, and quite frankly it’s super unhealthy.
If you want what someone else has, bow to her. Celebrate her. Throw her a big freakin’ cheer party. Know that her success doesn’t make you anything less, and those beautiful things are for you too.
On the other hand, I see a lot of women out there (myself included), shying away from sharing happy news or questioning weather or not they should talk about their successes in fear or hurting someone else’s feelings.
No, no, no!
Ladies, there is no need to dim your light to make others feel better. That’s doing a disservice to you and all your other sisters.
Instead shine your light so bright that it encourages others to shine bright too. And next time you see one of your soul … Read More!

Alrighty, onward to this week’s feature on Healthy Chicks in the Community, a weekly series highlighting rockstar Girl Bosses doing their thang in the wellness community and beyond.
I’m excited to introduce you to fellow SheBreathes member Lisa Paige, who works with teens to lessen their stress while they prepare for the SAT and/or ACT and apply to college. I love that she integrates meditation and journaling for wellness, and teaches communication skills to help parents and teens stay close through that last precious year that the teens are living at home. How cool is that?
