Tuesday Talk: Operation Tone That Tush
[source]
Good morning ladies! So, yesterday was my first day working as a receptionist at Exhale Spa Battery Wharf. Let me just tell you, I’ve never wanted to live at a job more so than this one; the place is absolutely beautiful and oh so serene. And that’s not all. All of the Core Fusion and Yoga instructors are absolutely ripped.
While some may complain about the mandatory classes staff must be a part of, I was jumping up and down in excitement. Required exercise? Being forced to tone my bod? A workout challenge? I AM IN.
I’m mostly excited for toning my tush. Yes, I said it. I mean, will you look at that butt on the cover of Exhale’s Core Fusion Body Sculpt DVD? I gotta say that’s one fine butt, and I definitely wouldn’t mind if mine looked half as good as that. Plus, as you already know I am absolutely obsessed with Core Fusion workout DVDs, and I figured it’s time to take it to the studio. Hence Operation Tone That Tush here I come!
One of my coworkers aims to take at least three Core Fusion classes a week, and has dropped 20 pounds and trimmed inches off her outer and inner thighs since she started working at Exhale. Not to mention she lifted her gluteus maximus (hehe I love that word) a whopping amount. I WANT THAT, I thought to myself.
So how will I do it? First and foremost, I am not going to change anything about my diet or eating habits. In fact, with all the running I’ve been doing for half marathon training and strength-training classes I will be doing, I’ve been trying to eat more, particularly healthy carbs.
All I am going to do is aim to take at least two Core Fusion classes a week, plus one yoga class at first. If I can bear the burn, I will up it to three a week. I’m hoping this routine alone will give me a lil lifteroo in the badonkadonk region. A little shed of the inner and outer thighs (my trouble areas) would be a nice plus too.
But as I already said, my goal is pure toning. It’s not about the weight loss. It’s about the tonage and the butt lift, baby. I’ll be sure to keep you posted as my Operation proceeds. Wish me luck, ladies!

Omg I want that job! (Not kidding…) Seriously though, you will be amazed what a difference a real instructor makes. The DVDs are great, but the classes just take it to a whole new level. Your tush is going to LOVE you! Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if you can bear more than two classes per week…all the stretching means soreness is a non-issue most of the time.
Anyway, I just wanted to say CONGRATS, Rach! I was so excited when I read that you had taken a class the other day but this is big news! I am proud to say I played a part…can’t wait to hear tons of updates on how it’s going and some behind the scenes details of life at Exhale.
Okay stopping now… I apologize for creaming all over your blog.

Hi there! I’m here via Rachel Wilkerson’s blog, and I had a quick question for you…
I’ve seen how much Rachel W. loves the Core Fusion workouts, and to hear you echo it, I feel like it’s really something I might want to try in order to ditch the lbs I’ve put on post-college. One thing though… I have congenital muscle weakness, which is a lot of the reason why I’m looking at Core Fusion. I’m wondering if you think the workouts on Body Sculpt are modifiable for someone who’s not very strong? Thanks so much for your help! I’m loving your blog. 🙂

@Rachel Thanks for the encouragement, lady! I’m SO glad you got me interested in Core Fusion in the first place…now look where it took me. If you ever come up to Boston, you better come take a class with me hehe ; )

@Jordan First off, welcome to my blog. I’m so glad you stopped by!
I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend core fusion, and could not stress it enough! The great thing about it is it focuses A LOT on stretching and flexibility, and always offers modifications for injuries, or moves someone may simply not be ready to do.
So yes, the workouts are definitely modifiable and you can choose your own weights as to not go too hard your first time. Maybe start with a DVD and see how you like it? Body Sculpt is great because it’s complete with arms, thighs, glutes and abs making it a great full body workout.
Let me know if you have any other questions and best of luck on your core fusion journey!
