3 Tools for a Blissful & Peaceful Holiday Season
While it may be the most wonderful time of the year, the holidays can also bring upon a mix of emotions. Whether you’re dealing with grief from a recent loss, anxiety around food or holiday shopping stress, here’s my three tried and true tools to bring more joy and bliss into the season.
Gratitude
It all starts with gratitude. Simply put, when we focus on what we’re grateful for, our life becomes more full. Challenge yourself to write down three things you are grateful for every day, and watch the abundance of blessings flow in.
Whether you enjoy writing in a gratitude journal, keeping a gratitude jar for your family or simply reflecting on your many blessings, try to make it a part of your daily routine.
Mindfulness
The holidays are a great time to slow down and be here in the now! Soak up the taste of your favorite holiday foods (without guilt), pull an affirmation card to tune inward, take a brisk meditative walk outside or do a body scan.
If you’re feeling the urge to unplug from technology, this is also a great season to attempt doing a digital detox — an intentional break from … Read More!
7 Ideas to Craft Your Autumn Self-Care Toolbox
Energetically, fall is a season of letting go, going inward, grounding, tapping into your spirituality and soaking up all the magic. Here are seven simple ideas to craft your autumn self-care toolbox so you can take care of you this season.
- Practice Root Chakra Balancing: Balance your root chakra with slow meditative walks outside, grounding foods like root vegetables and connecting with Mother Earth. Consider purchasing some black tourmaline, a healing stone which can be particularly grounding and protective.
- Take Grounding Breaths: When you feel yourself getting flighty and in your head, take slow, intentional breaths to assist in grounding your mind, body and soul.
- Utilize Earth Essential Oils: Earthy essential oils like patchouli, Frankincense, and calming lavender can be especially comforting this season.
- Cook with Seasonal Produce: Hit the local farmer’s market and cook a wholesome, farm-fresh meal with seasonal produce items like sweet potatoes, spaghetti squash, beets, apples, pears and brussels sprouts.
- Relax with a Cozy Bath: Soak up that much-needed me-time with an unplugged bath, complete with your favorite relaxing tunes, essential oils, and healing stones.
- Gather with Friends & Family: Autumn is a season of connecting with dear friends and loved
Take the Long Way Home: A Lesson on Slowing Down When Life Throws You a Curveball
The other night, I cried over pizza. Let me explain…
I had this fun idea to order takeout pizza and then take the kiddos to a local farm that serves ice cream to eat it outside (and look at the farm animals).
It was my picture “perfect” plan, until a wrench got thrown in it.
As we head out the door to cram it all in before the race to kid’s bedtime (IYKYK), we hit a road block when a traffic jam turned our six-minute ride into a 20-minute detour through back roads.
When we finally arrived to pick up the pizza 30 minutes late, mine wasn’t even started yet. It would be another 15 minute wait.
So we drove to the farm to kill time…without our pizza. As I looked at the empty picnic tables where we could have been enjoying our family dinner, I could feel my energy start to shift. I was was fuming.
Now it was getting past little guys bedtime, we still hadn’t eaten and my perfect plan was “ruined.” Frustrated, I ran inside to order a quart of ice cream to go instead, and back to the pizza place we went.
On our drive … Read More!

5 Steps for Manifesting Your Desires this Summer
Not only is summer the season for beach trips, watermelon, and lobstah rolls, but it’s also the season for manifesting and taking action.
While spring was all about planting seeds (both literally and figuratively), now is the time to watch your garden grow/see it all come to fruition. I call it the “season of yes” – saying yes to whatever fuels your soul. Today on the blog, I’m sharing some of my go-to manifestation tips for summertime!
5 Quick Steps for Summer Manifestation
- Ask yourself how you want to FEEL this summer.
- If you’re unsure, simply follow the path that lights you up – what ignites your passion + creativity?
- Set your intention based on how you want to feel.
- Take conscious, feel-good action in alignment with your intention.
- Let go and ask for guidance from the universe!
When you do the work, this stuff works.
In fact, I spent the entire spring season planting seeds and mapping out my Bliss Sisterhood, and the first week of summer finally felt like the perfect time to LAUNCH. It just felt right.
Go ahead…utilize that fiery summer energy to your advantage!

What are you releasing this spring?
“Spring is proof that there is beauty in new beginnings” -Matshona Dhliwayo
I started seeing an energy healer seven years ago and have booked sessions on and off ever since. Before my call last week, it hit me that all of my sessions tend to fall on the same date — right around April 1st give or take a few days.
I then realized that it’s no coincidence. I’m subconsciously being called to shed old layers of myself to welcome the new. After all, energetically, spring is a season of renewal and new beginnings so this makes perfect sense. It’s no wonder many of us are called do some serious spring cleaning this time of year too (mentally and physically)!
It also makes sense why I had been seeing turkey vultures in our yard this spring. While at first I was freaked out by the symbolism, turns out they represent cleansing & renewal. A ha! 🤯 I heard the message loud and clear.
I’m so excited to dive deeper into this discussion at next week’s Spring Bliss Circle to celebrate the shift in seasons and have some fun pulling affirmation cards, meditating + journaling too! Would love to have you there!

Hey It’s OK…to Feel Your Feelings
The other week, my little girl and I dressed up in matching fairy “butterfly wings.” She insisted on wearing the pink ones, and me the purple (which I gladly accepted — it’s my fave color).
We giggled and laughed and flapped our wings… it was pure bliss.
Fast forward to later that day: she had one of her classic toddler tantrums. I think it was because I wouldn’t give her another Larabar or because her block castle fell down — it’s all a blur. But it doesn’t really matter at the end of the day.
What matters is how you choose to respond. Lately, I’ve really been working on the language I use when speaking with my daughter. While it’s tempting to say, “Stop crying” or “It’s OK,” I’ve been trying to shift my language to let her feel all her feelings.
Here are some responses I’ve been using in those tantrum moments: “What’s going on, love bug?” “I see you’re mad. Grr..Are you feeling angry?” “We’re going to have lunch first and then we can have another yummy snack later.” “Do you want a hug?”
And guess what? It works. It’s not magic, it’s just a shift in language.… Read More!
Home Sweet Home & a Reflection on My 2020 Word
If you remember back at the beginning of the year, my word I chose for 2020 was “rooted.”
I wrote,
“I want to feel rooted in all areas of my life — my career, my home, my relationships. For me, rooted means getting grounded, establishing myself and continuing to plant seeds and grow…
2020 will be a year of further establishing myself as a wellness writer and entrepreneur, deepening my relationships (and prioritizing regular date nights/meet-ups with close friends), and the year our family plants our roots and buys our first home together.”
Last weekend, we officially moved into our new home. As I sat down to eat my avocado toast in the kitchen as little love ran around in her penguin pajamas, I felt a wave of gratitude fill my entire body. “This is what rooted feels like,” I thought to myself.
You see, we had gotten these white plates for our wedding six years ago, and have been waiting to find our home sweet home to use them — and unpack most of our gifts to be honest.
Over the years, we’ve lived in three different apartments together, and then my parents house for a … Read More!
